ENGINES:
1. No aluminum blocks allowed.
2. Any American make engine may be used. The rear of the engine (bell housing flange) MUST be mounted at least 72" forward from the centerline of the rear axle. Engine offset MUST be kept within 2" of centerline of the front cross member. The engine height will be 11" minimum from the
ground to the center of the crankshaft.
3. All engines used in competition MUST be able to be used in a conventional passenger car without alterations. The motor mounts cannot be removed and/or altered. The castings and fittings MUST not be changed in any way. No machine work will be permitted on the outside of the engine, nor on the front and rear of camshaft.
4. NO MAGNETOS!
5. No total "dry sump systems" allowed. A SINGLE STAGE EXTERNAL OIL PUMP may be used. All stored oil MUST be in the oil pan.
6. The cooling system may be modified. Any overflow tubes MUST be directed to the ground inside of the mainframe rails. The radiator MUST be mounted in front of the engine ONLY. Oil coolers MUST not protrude above the interior.
7. If a CRATE MOTOR is used, adjustments to the rules may done to make them more competitive. Some testing will be REQUIRED so that this may be done in fairness to all competitors.

CARBURETION:
1. One 2- or 4-barrel carburetor is okay, but MUST be normally aspirated. No fuel injection or electric fuel pumps allowed. The Predator carburetor is permitted (one ONLY). One 1" maximum carburetor spacer is allowed between the intake and carburetor.

TRANSMISSIONS:
1. All transmissions MUST have at least one forward and one reverse gear, plus a neutral position. With the motor running and the car in a stationary position, the driver MUST be able to engage the car into gear and move it forward and then again move the vehicle backwards. No five speed, "in and out" boxes, or quick-change devices allowed. A Bert, Brinn, or Falcon Transmission with clutch inside the transmission housing is allowed.
2. Any bell housing is acceptable for a manual transmission as long as the clutch is a two disc or three disc mini clutch. If a single disc clutch with O.E.M. pressure plate is used, the bell housing MUST be blow proof.
3. All automatic transmissions MUST remain in the stock O.E.M. appearing automatic case. The original bell housing MUST remain and MUST have an approved SCATTER SHIELD or BLANKET.
4. All vehicles MUST be capable of starting without being pushed or pulled. All cars MUST join the lineup on demand, without assistance, or that car will start at the rear of the field for the race.

REAR ENDS:
1. Any passenger car or truck type rear ends allowed. Quick-change rear ends are allowed, but MUST have steel tubes. All other rear ends MUST have steel housings. All rear ends MUST be full floating types.
2. No cambered rear ends. One-piece drive flanges ONLY. The rear ends are subject to inspection at any time!
3. ABSOLUTELY NO FORM OF TRACTION CONTROL WILL BE ALLOWED! Any car found to be using any type of traction control at any time will incur the following penalty: suspension of both the car and driver for one calendar year from all Ona Speedway sanctioned events in addition to a $500 fine. Upon the completion of the suspension, the fine MUST be paid before the car and driver will be allowed to compete again. The sale of the car will not nullify the driver or
owner's obligation to pay the fine. FINES DO NOT TRANSFER THROUGH THE OWNERSHIP OF A SUSPENDED VEHICLE.

TIRES:
1. All tires will be Goodyear (D-2663 27" &D-2462 26.5").
2. Absolutely no tire soaking! Any tire with a durameter reading under the established limit of 56, will not be allowed to compete.
3. No grooving or recaps allowed. An 8" STEEL wheel ONLY. No bead locking devices, wheel discs, or mud caps. NO WIDE FIVE ADAPTERS!
4. The tire MUST extend beyond the WIDEST PART OF THE BODY and NERF BARS and be visible from front, rear, and top. See "L" diagram.

FRAME:
1. Factory production completely full 1960 or newer parallel American passenger car frames ONLY.
2. The frame may not be widened or narrowed and MUST be able to securely support the roll cage on both sides of the car. MUST be full and completed on both sides and must extend at least to the firewall. The front cross member MUST remain full and intact where joined at the frame rails. The center may be notched for radiator or steering clearance ONLY. No part of the main chassis may be lower than 3 ½" from the ground, this includes the body, frame, exhaust, and seat brackets.
3. The front suspension MUST be unaltered O.E.M., in stock location and replaceable by stock parts. The weight jacks MUST be in the original center of springs. Stock passenger car spindles ONLY permitted (no fabricated spindles). The bottom A-frames cannot be moved or altered in anyway. Approved aftermarket A-frames are allowed. Any O.E.M., after market O.E.M., or spline type front torsion bar is allowed. No aluminum or fiberglass suspension or rear end parts allowed.
The steering box MUST be O.E.M. and remain at the original bolt pattern for the frame being used. No Rack and Pinion allowed. In the cockpit, steering may be altered to suit driver's taste, but MUST be kept on the left side (original driver side). No center steering allowed. No aluminum hubs, calipers, A-frames, spindles, or any other aluminum suspension parts allowed. The EXCEPTION will be that adjustable clamps on the pan hard bar and third link ONLY may be
aluminum. The calipers cannot be lightened and MUST be stock O.E.M. The rotors cannot be lightened, but may be re-drilled for a different bolt pattern and larger studs. Heim joints are allowed on the inner and outer tie rod ends, instead of ball joints. MUST have stock O.E.M. lower ball joint and all heim joints MUST be steel. NO MONO-BALL, BALL JOINTS!
4. Tube type upper A-frames are allowed and can be moved, but MUST be steel, including cross shaft.
5. No coil over shocks allowed on the front. Aluminum coil over shocks are allowed on the rear. No homemade coilovers anywhere on the car. All springs MUST be a minimum of 4 ½" in diameter.
6. No Jeep, Bronco, etc. or four-wheel drives; sport car and front wheel driver frames allowed.
7. The rear of the frame may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Any coil spring anywhere on the car MUST be a minimum of 4 ½" in outside diameter. Steel springs ONLY! No torsion bars in front allowed.
8. No hydraulic, ratchet, or electric weight jacks in or on the car. NO AIR SHOCKS or air bags of any kind allowed.
9. Any steel body, non-externally adjustable, rebuildable shock allowed. NO EXTERNAL CANISTERS! One shock per wheel ONLY. The Speedway's General Manager reserves the right to make claims and even multiple claims.
10. The minimum wheelbase will be 108" on both sides of the car (NO TOLERANCE). The maximum overall width, from side to side, both front and rear, will not exceed 78" from outside of tread to outside of tread on spec. tires (see tire rule).

BODIES:
1. Any 1970 or newer American compact passenger cars ONLY. No van or station wagon bodies allowed. A stock-appearing front windshield and rear window support unit is REQUIRED. Painted roll bars are not acceptable. A half, absolutely flat windshield (no wings) in front of the driver or a full windshield mounted to the body is permitted. When Lexan is being used, it MUST be a 1/8" minimum thickness to be installed as a windshield. All windshields MUST be adequately
supported with bracing and a minimum of three bars MUST be used in front of the driver.
2. Windshields are not mandatory.
3. A firewall and floorboards are MANDATORY. Fiberglass or metal body parts are permitted. Handmade body panels can be constructed from steel, aluminum, or fiberglass. No plastic body parts are allowed. The body MUST be the same width, from front to rear and body panels MUST be parallel to the frame being used. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
4. The original roofline of the vehicle MUST be maintained. It MUST be a steel, fiberglass, and full-sized roof. No wings or any other type of ground effects allowed anywhere outside or inside of the car with the exception of a rear spoiler. A rear spoiler is allowed, with an 8" maximum height and at a maximum width of 66". The spoiler cannot be wider than the rear body panels of the car. All spoiler bracing MUST be made so as not to funnel air. The sides of the spoiler MUST remain open. A ½" 90" bend maximum or a piece of ½" 90" angel maximum may be used to strengthen the top of the spoiler, but absolutely MUST not exceed ½" and the direction of the bend or angle MUST be facing the rear (opposite working face of spoiler.) The sail panels MUST closely resemble those in the body diagram and be the SAME ON BOTH SIDES of the car. The sail panels may not make contact with or be fastened to any part of the spoiler. This includes bracing, hinge, or any other part of the spoiler. Any reinforcing lips on rear sail panels MUST be 180° bends. The rear panel on the car MUST be fastened down on three sides and be at a 90° angle to the interior deck from top to bottom (see "N" on diagram).
5. No wings, valleys, vanes, spoilers or any other type of ground effects and funneling devices allowed anywhere outside, inside, or under the car. All body and fender bracing MUST be made from round stock or a flat stock, at a 1" maximum width. No material may be added to the roll bars for any other reason other than padding.
6. The engine compartment will remain open. No side panels. The engine hood sides may have a maximum 4" drop and MUST be enclosed in the rear of the hood. The hood scoop is exactly what it is intended to be and MUST be located in the known hood area (keep it simple). The maximum hood scope height will be 6". The body panels should extend no further forward than the back of the engine block (driver and passenger side). No panels are allowed in front of passenger side door to engine compartment. No inner panels of any kind. The front of the foot box at the back of the engine compartment (driver side) MUST be flat (straight up, down, and side to side), no funneling devices will be allowed. The interior panels MUST be flat from side to side and front to
back, with a maximum slope of 4" (rake) from the back of the engine compartment to the rear of the car, this includes the cockpit.
7. The driver and passenger side window openings MUST have at least a 12" vertical opening.
8. All cars will be numbered with large legible numbers on the top, side, or rear panel, at least 18" in height. The numbers shall be in a contrasting color to the car body color, easily visible from the tower.
9. Cars using alcohol MUST have a 6-inch "A" on all four sides of the car.
10. No car covers or suspension covers will be permitted (i.e.: any panel installed that conceals or otherwise obstructs a clear vision of the car's components).
11. A full nose and lower nose is REQUIRED. A lower nose MUST be flat and parallel to the ground. No nosepiece may extend beyond the rear face of the front bumper and MUST measure a minimum of 3 ½" from the ground. No nosepiece can have raise sides above or below (top or bottom) to funnel air in any way. The nose cannot be bent or bulged to go around the frame horns. No air guides can be mounted to any exterior surface of the nose in any way. If the nosepiece sides are wider than the front mainframe rails, then the sides MUST lay flat against the outside of those frame rails. The sides of the nose piece MUST be flat from front to rear, top to bottom and cannot extend below or above, top or bottom of the body panels. If the nosepiece has an opening at the bottom, in the very front, nearest to the front bumper, then the two pieces forming the opening MUST be parallel. A nose piece may have holes or an opening to allow for
air flow to radiator, but any panels constructed inside the nose piece MUST be flat and parallel to the outer sides, the top and bottom MUST be parallel to the ground (90° angles ONLY). The nosepiece is considered to end at the back or rear side of the radiator. This is also considered to be where the engine hood begins. The STACEY STYLE noses with the hump: the hump cannot be higher than 6". This height will be measured from the rake of the engine hood. The new ELLIS STYLE nose is also allowed, but all above-mentioned rules apply. All nosepieces are subject to approval, but you have been permitted to do more for looks than in the past. All quarter fender, body, and interior bracing MUST be made of flat stock, square or round tubing not to exceed 1" in size. Bracing cannot form air-channeling devices in any way.
12. The rake of the engine hood will be measured either front to rear or rear to front, whichever application needs to apply (3" maximum).
13. The body MUST remain the same width from top to bottom with the following exception: A 6" maximum width skirt may be added to the body side panels and rear quarters. The very bottom 2" may bent at a 45° angle for strengthening, but MUST remain at 3 ½" off the ground. The body sides and skirting bent or folded back to cover the frame is not allowed. The bottom of the frame MUST be exposed.
14. A 19" maximum side window vent or side deflector may be used on both sides of the car. This window or deflector MUST not inhibit or restrict the entry or exiting of the car and cannot make the side window measurement fall under the minimum.

BUMPERS:
1. The front bumper MUST be made of steel; the rear bumper may be steal or aluminum. A twobar front bumper MUST be mounted end frame rail to end frame rail with the bottom loop (straight up and down) and have three upright tubes for support. From the center of the bottom bumper loop to the center of the upper or top bumper loop, MUST be a minimum of 6" (side to side). The center of the entire front bumper assembly MUST be 18" (1"±) from the ground. The bumper
loops MUST be made of a minimum 1 ¼" tubing and able to support the car being lifted with a wrecker.
2. The rear bumper, steel nerf bars, and body panel MUST not extend beyond the width of the rear tires and have NO SHARP EDGES. Steel nerf bars are REQUIRED on both sides of the car and at the rear of the car. Rear nerf bars may be inside the rear quarter panels, but MUST be attached to the ends of the rear bumper. Alterations may be REQUIRED at an Ona Speedway Tech Official's discretion.
3. The rear bumper may be constructed of tubing, flat stock; aluminum channel or "I" beam. The center of the entire rear bumper assembly MUST be 18" (1"±) from the ground. The rear bumper may be no more than 2" wider than the body panels on each side of the car and MUST not extend beyond the tires on either side (see Rule No. 2).

ROLL CAGE:
1. Hoops not less than 1.5 inch outside diameter and MUST have a wall thickness of at least .095 inch. Ona Speedway Tech Officials, at their own discretion, may drill three (3) holes to verify thickness.
2. Must be frame mounted in at least six places. Roll bar padding is REQUIRED in the driver's compartment. Fire resistant padding is strongly recommended.
3. Configuration MUST consist of front and rear hoops connected by tubing on the sides or side hoops. The DRIVER'S HEAD MUST not extend above the cage with helmet on. The cage MUST have at least one cross bar in the halo section.
4. A low carbon, mild steel tubing is strongly recommended. No brazing or soldering.
5. The protection of the feet is MANDATORY. A bar across the back of the engine with vertical bars and rub rails or similar protection is a MUST.
6. No brace bars forward of the cage may be higher than the stock hood height. The main cage can be no further forward than the engine plate.
7. The minimum of three driver side door bars, at least 1 ½" outside diameter, MUST be as parallel with the ground as possible and located perpendicular to the driver so as to provide maximum protection, but not to cause undue difficulty in getting out of the car. These bars MUST be securely welded to the front and rear of the roll cage members. No brazing or soldering. The addition of doorplates is highly recommended.

WEIGHT:
1. The minimum weight for all cars is 2500 pounds.
2. All cars will have 58% (58.0) maximum LEFT SIDE WEIGHT.
3. The FRAME and BODY height will be a minimum of 3 ½" measured from the ground up. All measurements will be taken after the main event, with driver in and helmet positioned on his lap.
4. Fuel cell can be no lower than the lowest part of the rear end housing.

MISCELLANEOUS:
1. A one-way radio set to the track's frequency for instructions from the tower is MANDATORY! Spotters can be used, but the spotter MUST be in the spotters' designated area.
2. No electronic computer monitoring devices capable of storing or transmitting information, EXCEPT for tachometers, are allowed on or in the car.
3. No DIGITAL GAUGES or ADJUSTABLE IGNITION CONTROL BOXES allowed. This includes tachometer.
4. Items found that are not in accordance with the Ona Speedway Tech Rules and that are not a major performance advantage or of safety issues will be given one week's allowance or until the next race attended by that same vehicle to be in compliance.

6. Claim on the msd box is $300.00
7. Claim on the msd or HEI distributor $175.00

SAFETY:
1. A Snell approved SA 95 or newer full-face helmet is REQUIRED. The sticker MUST be intact and verifiable. A helmet MUST be worn at all times when the car is on the track and MUST accompany the car through inspection. SFI approved fire suits and gloves of a flame retarding nature MUST be worn. Fire retarding shoes are strongly recommended. Full-sized driver side window net is REQUIRED. A five-point safety harness is REQUIRED. The harness MUST be no
more than five years old and in good condition. If they are stiff, frayed, or outdated, they will not pass inspection and MUST be replaced before the car will be allowed to compete. The shoulder harnesses MUST be mounted securely to the roll cage. An aluminum-racing seat ONLY will be permitted. The seat MUST be mounted inside of the frame rail and ahead of the rear tire. A kill switch is REQUIRED within reach of the driver and clearly marked "ON and OFF". A 360° drive
shaft loop is REQUIRED and MUST be at least ¼" x 2" steel piece mounted 6" back from front of drive shaft. A similar loop mounted 6" forward from rear of drive shaft is highly recommended. The drive shaft MUST be painted white and made of steel ONLY.
2. The brakes MUST be operational on all four wheels and MUST lock up all four wheels during inspection. No brake shut off devices of any kind allowed. A proportioning valve is allowed front and rear ONLY.
3. The exhaust system MUST be mounted so as to direct gasses away from the cockpit and all areas of a possible fuel spillage. Mufflers may be REQUIRED and the .98 dba rules would apply.
4. A racing fuel cell is REQUIRED. The fuel cell MUST be enclosed in a steel container and mounted securely behind the rear axle, protected by the roll cage tubing. The fuel cell MUST be mounted with at least two solid steel straps, at a minimum of 2" in width and wrapped snugly around the fuel cell. All cells MUST have a check valve. 32-gallon maximum capacity is permitted. The pick-up MUST not be underneath the fuel cell. No part of the fuel cell can be lower
than the protective tubing.
5. The battery MUST be securely mounted and shielded.
6. The fuel may be either gasoline or alcohol. No nitrous oxide allowed. Any car found to have nitrous oxide or any illegal substances will be disqualified and lose all points for the night. A repeat offense will incur fines and suspension. No fuel additives of any kind allowed with the exception of TOP OIL which may be used in cars running alcohol.
7. No loose objects or weights will be allowed in the driver's compartment, outside of the body, or in the hood area. Weight MUST be securely mounted and painted white with the car's number on them. All weight MUST be attached or mounted with at least ½" bolts.
8. A fire extinguisher is MANDATORY! It MUST be at least a 2 lb. extinguisher with gauge and fully charged. The extinguisher MUST be mounted with a metal latch type bracket and within easy reach of the driver.

INSPECTION:
1. All cars MUST meet minimum TECHNICAL and SAFETY inspections as REQUIRED.
2. The top five cars, or as deemed by TECH OFFICIALS, MUST stop at the designated tech area after the FEATURE for minimum inspection or they will be immediately disqualified.
3. The DRIVER will be the ONLY person allowed in the TECH AREA.
4. TECH OFFICIALS may request additional cars for inspection as requested or deemed necessary.
5. Any driver refusing or not complying with inspection requests will be immediately disqualified.
6. Any car found not in compliance will be immediately disqualified. Disqualifications will result in loss of points, awards, and money.
7. ABSOLUTELY NO TRACTION CONTROL DEVICES OF ANY KIND!

NOTICE:
Anything not covered by the following rules, abuse of the rules, and a creative interpretation of the rules should be checked with through the ONA SPEEDWAY TECH INSPECTORS before proceeding. Any decision on questionable items about rules is up to the EVENT DIRECTOR and the TECH INSPECTOR, and our decision is FINAL!

The above rules and specifications set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all speedway events. By participating in these events, all speedway entrants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and specifications. They are intended as a guide towards the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others. Note: RULES may be CHANGED as deemed necessary for the FAIR SPORT of racing.
