2008 JUNIOR U-CAR RULES

The JUNIOR UCAR division is a complete stock car class. If it is not STOCK, don't do
it. The age requirement will be 13/14/15 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age
MUST have a parent or guardian sign a waiver at each event. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
GENERAL
A. All starts and restarts will be two wide at a dead stop.
1. SOHC Motors only.
2. Any American or foreign front wheel drive compact. 104.5" max wheelbase. 3 and
4 Cylinders Only!
3. No fuel additives of any kind pump gas only.
4. Spec track tire only fuzion Hri up to a 60 series only.
5. Wheels MUST be same diameter and offset on all four corners. Aluminum or steel
O.E.M. no racing rims.
6. All four wheels 0 camber.
7. (Stock O.E.M. suspension only).
8. All Ona Speedway safety rules apply.
9. Stock carburetor/fuel injection system for that make and model. No turbos or
supercharged systems allowed.
10. Battery must remain under the hood.
11. Two hood pins in front part of hood AND to the rear of the trunk.
12. Doors must be welded shut or bolted.
13. If a lexan front window is not used, 3 bars must be installed in front of drivers
seat no glass windows to be used.
14. Dashboard must be in place.
15. Fuel cut off switch must be operable.
16. Fire extinguisher must be mounted in full reach of the driver and track
personnel.
17. Roll bar padding is mandatory.
18. Aluminum race seat mandatory.
19. Interior must be removed and all holes sealed.
20. Air bags must be removed.
21. Exhaust must exit the rear of the car.
22. A ¼ inch thick steel plate welded to driver and passenger side cage.
23. Five (5) point racing belts with quick release are mandatory.
24. Some sort of racing type neck brace mandatory.
B. NUMBERS
3-digit numbers are NOT permitted.
Cars MUST be painted and lettered neatly. Cars MUST look like racecars. An 18"
minimum sized number is REQUIRED on both doors and rooftop. No reflective
numbers! Roof number MUST be displayed for viewing from the right (passenger)
side of the car. Numbers MUST be legible and visible to the scoring tower. If your
number is not visible, YOU WILL NOT BE SCORED which will result in a loss of
awarded points. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
C. The top 8" of windshield MUST be reserved for DIVISION SPONSORS. In order to
earn the points and awards given by the SPONSOR, you MUST display their decals as
REQUIRED.
D. MINIMUM SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
all cars are subject to inspection at any time. It is the responsibility of the driver to
prepare their car FREE of defects and in safe operation.
Driver and passengers door must be reinforced with three-door bars 1.75 x .095 wall
or greater, and a ¼ inch thick steel plate welded to driver and passenger side cage.
ROLL CAGES: All cages must be made from round steel at least 1.75 inches O.D. x
.095 inch thickness, seamless tubing. Galvanized Pipe Prohibited. All cars must be
constructed with a 4-point roll cage consistent with the diagram in the current
NASCAR Racing Rulebook. Front roll cage uprights will be no more than six (6)
inches from the front windshield post measured at the base of the post to the roll bar
cages. Must go from four points on the frame straight up to the roof following the
contour of the windshield post in front, and follow the roofline to connect. Again, no
offset cages left to right or front to rear. Bars must remain inside firewall.
All exposed roll bars must be padded with roll bar foam padding.
Cages must be bolted and welded to the floor.
E.
Drivers' seats must be welded or bolted to the frame and must be located a
minimum of eight (8) inches from the inside of the closest drivers door bar.
Aluminum seats only. Rib rest and right side headrest shall remain flexible and shall
not be reinforced.
Five (5) point racing belts with quick release are mandatory, and must meet S.F.I.
specifications. No surplus belts. Must be mounted on roll cage approved by Tech
Officials. Seat belts can be no older then five (5) years.
F.
Window nets are mandatory. Window net must be full-size ribbon or mesh type.
Window nets must be up at all times while on the racetrack. It is mandatory that the
NASCAR type seat belt buckle method of mounting be used.
G.
Drivers must be protected at all times with a proper crash helmet meeting all Snell
95 or newer specifications (with sticker visible and unaltered) and a flame-resistant
driving suit, top and bottom, meeting SFI specifications. Flame resistant under
garments and socks are highly recommended. Gloves and shoes are mandatory.
H. INSPECTION
All cars MUST meet minimum TECHNICAL and SAFETY inspection as REQUIRED.
The top 3 cars, or as deemed by TECH OFFICIALS, MUST stop at the designated tech
area after the FEATURE for minimum inspection or they will be immediately
disqualified.
The DRIVER with the car will be the ONLY person allowed in the TECH AREA.
TECH OFFICIALS may request additional cars for inspection as requested and or as
deemed necessary.
Any driver refusing or not complying with inspection request will be immediately
disqualified.
Any car found not in compliance will be immediately disqualified. Disqualification will
result in loss of points, awards.

If the rules don't say you can do or use it, YOU CAN'T!
Anything not covered by the following rules, abuse of the rules, and a creative interpretation of the rules should be checked with through the ONA SPEEDWAY TECH INSPECTORS before proceeding. Any decision on questionable items about rules is up to the EVENT DIRECTOR and the TECH INSPECTOR, and our decision is FINAL! The above rules and specifications set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all speedway events. By participating in these events, all speedway entrants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and specifications. They are intended as a guide towards the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others. Note: RULES may be CHANGED as deemed necessary for the FAIR SPORT of racing.
