2008 GENERAL RACING PROCEDURES OF ONA SPEEDWAY
NO ALCOHOL! If you are caught with alcohol at Ona Speedway you will be asked to
leave immediately, No Exceptions!!
A. CONDUCT
1. NO FIGHTING. You may be fined, suspended, and/or prosecuted if you are caught
fighting.
B. FIGHTING WITH TRACK OFFICIALS WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING PROSECUTED -
NO EXCEPTIONS.
C. If you wish to dispute a call, you can do so by contacting the Race Director. Do
not dispute calls with other officials.
D. Swearing - We understand this is a very emotional sport. Do not let us catch you
swearing in the General Grandstand Area or you will be banned. Do not take it to
extremes in the pits or you will be banned.
E. Tech Building - tech officials have the right to tech you at any time, they are here
to make it fair. Treat them fair. Remember give them respect and you can get in and
out quickly, give them a hard time and it might take you a while in the building.
F. ALL TECH QUESTIONS GO TO RACE DIRECTOR
1. Any part found illegal by the tech inspector the inspector will receive 10% of the
pay out for that spot, the next car will move up minus that 10%
G. Please try to work with us on events during the race for the sake of the fans,
Without them we all fail.
H. Fans look up to you whether you want it or not, always try to represent your team
and Ona Speedway in the best fan-friendly way you can.
I. Treat everyone the way you expect to be treated.
J. The driver shall be the sole spokesperson for his or her car, and the pit crew in all
matter pertaining to the event. The driver is responsible for his or actions as well as
their crew members actions at Ona Speedway.
K. DO Not leave discarded tires in the pits. These must be taken with you or you will
be fined $15 per tire.
L. No driver, owner, mechanic, or anyone else shall have any claims for damages,
expenses, or otherwise against the track or its officials, or anyone else associated
with Ona Speedway, including the track lease holders or owners. By entering the pit
gate at Ona Speedway you are assuming the risk of injury while at Ona Speedway.
M. RADIOS
1. Every division MUST have at least a radio scanner tuned to the Tower frequency.
No exceptions. Radio Frequency is 454.000 this will be enforced for the 2008 season.
2. Two-way radios are allowed
3. Cars with two-way radios must still monitor Tower frequency at all times.
N. HOT LAPS
1. IF YOU ARE NOT HERE OR NOT READY WHEN HOT LAPS FOR YOUR DIVISION
BEGIN YOU WILL NOT GET THEM NO EXCEPTIONS.
O. LINEUPS, START OF RACE, AND RESTARTS
1. The race director will decide lineups.
2. YOU CANNOT BUMP INTO AN INVERT. If an 8-car invert is poled and you are
Number 9 and 1 of the 8 drop out, you cannot move up into the invert.
3. START of the race, heats, and features inside car leads the field.
4. ALL RESTARTS OF HEATS AND FEATURE WILL BE AT THE RACE DIRECTORS
DIGRESSION. THIS IS NOT OPEN FOR DISCUSSION.
5.If you jump a start you will be warned ONE time. After that it will be up to
Management to decide a penalty – which will most likely put you to the tail.
6. Start of restarts – Maintain nose-to-tail until green flag is displayed. If you jump
or pass on restart, at end of race, or next yellow you will be docked two spots.
Passing allowed to outside only until you reach the Start/Finish line.
7. Listen to Tower radio for lineups or watch track workers. If you are not in your
position and behind, we will start race. If you are advanced in your position and
refuse to move, a penalty, including black flag, will occur.
8. Once any race is complete the top three cars will stop in the infield to be
interviewed the remaining cars will leave the track, at that time the next line up of
cars will enter the track and park at the scoring sign and shut the motors off do not
go past the white line or cone at the sign wait till the flagman gives you the yellow
flag
9. All classes will pull pills
P. MOVE OVER FLAG/LAP TRAFFIC
1. If you are shown the "Move Over" flag, you must go low. If you do not honor the
flag by the second time around you will be black-flagged.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
1. PASSING FLAG WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
YELLOW FLAG
2. You know what the yellow lights and flag mean. SLOW DOWN. Safety personnel
need to get on the track ASAP. It might be for you. Yield to ALL safety personnel.
FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN A PENALTY BLACK FLAG.
RED FLAG
1. STOP IN A SAFE MANNER AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN. NO EXCEPTIONS.
WHITE FLAG
2. One lap to go.
CHECKERED FLAG
3. End of race.
BLACK FLAG
4. You are ordered to leave the race. IF YOU DO NOT HONOR THE BLACK FLAG YOU
WILL LOSE ALL POINTS FOR THE SEASON AND RISK BEING BANNED FROM THE
TRACK
BLUE STRIPE FLAG
5. Lay over stay low you will be passed on the outside
GREEN FLAG
1. Start or restart of race.
Q. LEAVING A RACE
1. Back track gate will not open during a race. You must enter the infield pits.
R. WORKING ON CAR
1.You may use infield pits during a race. That is the only place you can work on your
car during a race. Track workers will not work on your car. IF TRACK WORKERS PULL
SOMETHING OFF CAR OR TOUCH CAR SO YOU DO NOT PIT YOU WILL BE PUT TO
TAIL. If you enter infield pits and come back into race, you will go tail.
2. YOU CANNOT WORK ON YOU CAR DURING RED FLAG.
3. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are caught working on car during a red flag, you will get a
one-lap penalty.
S. LEAVING CAR ON RACE TRACK
1. Only under certain conditions can you exit your car on the track. That is only when
told to do so by officials or you are in danger, such as a fire. If for some other reason
you exit your car, you will be put to tail with a one-lap penalty or black-flagged from
race.
T. ROUGH DRIVING
1. Rough driving will NOT BE TOLERATED. If you are caught rough driving, fines,
suspension and/or loss of points WILL occur.
U. SPIN OUTS
1. Both cars will go to the tail unless one can admit fault at the back gate RACE
DIRECTOR HAS THE FINAL WORD ON ALL SPINS
V. BARBEQUE GRILLS IN PITS WILL BE ALLOWED
1.You will be allowed as long as you contain it to a grill.
2.Coolers will be allowed in pits only. No alcohol. Security or Management at anytime
will check coolers.
W. THE BOX
1. There will be a box under the tech shed with cards if you have a suggestion,
dislike or gripe put it in the box no need to sign it but it has more weight if signed
X. CLAIMS
1. MANAGEMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO CLAIM ANYTHING, ON ANY CAR, AT ANY RACE.
IF YOU REFUSE A CLAIM, IT WILL RESULT IN HEAVY FINES. DECISIONS OF
OFFICIALS ARE FINAL.
THESE PROCEDURES MAY BE ADDED TO OR MODIFIED AT ANY TIME BY ONA
SPEEDWAY MANAGEMENT IF IN THE OPINION OF MANAGEMENT IT WILL BE THE
BEST FOR RACING. THIS WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR DISCUSSION OR PROTESTS.
2. Any class that the rules state you must run a Holley 4412 carburetor there will be
a $250 claim rule you must run in the same class and finish in the top 3 spots to
make a claim you have till the end of tech for your class to make a claim you also
must swap carburetors the track reserves the right to claim any carburetor at any
time with no swap
3. Claims in general one claim per person per year excluding the track
Y. TRACTION CONTROL
TRACTION CONTROL IS NOT ALLOWED. NO DISCUSSION. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT
USING TRACTION CONTROL, HEAVY FINES AND SUSPENSIONS WILL OCCUR.
Z. TIRES: If this same Goodyear tire is used at your track and use wish to use them
at Ona Speedway, you will be WILL BE REQUIRED to have them stamped by a Tech
Official at $10 per tire.
1. Standard durameter reading on 10” tires is 55 and 56 on 8” tires
A-1. PITS
You must drive at safe speeds in pits. Anyone found not being safe will be fined.
Pit lineups will be called. If your race is not in Pit Lane waiting to enter the track, you
most likely won't get to your race. If you have a problem with your car, notify pit
stewards so you don't get bumped from the race. We will not wait on you. You need
to be on time. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
B-1. SAFETY
You must go through safety check at Tech Building each time you race at Ona
Speedway and/or as requested by track officials. NO EXCEPTIONS.
C-1. 4 WHEELERS
If you are caught riding in an unsafe manner, you will not be allowed to have a 4-
wheeler in the pits anymore. Use your head on this one guys. We don't want anyone
hurt by careless driving. No one under 16 years of age is allowed to operate a 4-
wheeler.
D-1. FLAG STAND AND FLAG PERSON
FLAG PERSON WILL MAKE CALLS. DO NOT COMPLAIN TO THE FLAG PERSON ON
THESE CALLS. MANAGEMENT WILL TAKE COMPLAINTS AND SEE IF IT WARRANTS
FLAG PERSON TO BE INVOLVED IN DISCUSSION.

Ona speedway has operated many years now where the driver has benefited from
the so called Gray area NO MORE if it's a Gray rule or procedure the track will prevail
no one can write the rules and procedures perfect so we must rely on what our
intent was
F-1 DISCLAIMER
The Ona Speedway rules are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of stock car
racing events and to reduce the always-present risk of injury to both participants and
spectators during such events. An Ona Speedway event is a competitive sports
event, the conduct of which is governed by track officials. It is ultimately the
obligation of each participant to ensure that his/her conduct and equipment comply
with all Ona Speedway rules and regulations as they may be amended from time to
time. No express of implied warranty of safety shall result from the publication of, or
compliance with these rules. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the
sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants,
spectators or others.
G-1.ALL DECISIONS BY ONA SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS ARE FINAL. PROCEDURES AND
RULES CAN BE MODIFIED AT ANYTIME BY ONA SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS.
H-1.WE WANT 2008 TO BE A GOOD, FUN, AND SAFE SEASON. THAT IS WHY WE ARE
HERE. I WANT TO THANK ALL OF THE RACERS, FANS, AND ONA SPEEDWAY STAFF
FOR THEIR SUPPORT.
