Started my racing days on the computer where I used to race against Martin Truex Jr. regularly and Dale Earnhardt Jr. occasionally in online racing leagues. I credit learning to drive from my years of racing using computer simulation. Began real racing in 2001 when I travelled, with my best friend and teammate Jake Keaton, to Kentucky to help race a late model. The following 4 years we travelled from Ohio to Florida racing numerous tracks and gaining more experience. In 2005 I ran my rookie season in Classics at Ona Speedway and won 7 races along with the track championship. Ran partial season in 2006 and won 5 races out of 7 starts. Also in 2006 I took over Crew Chief duties for Jake Keaton when we raced at Motor Mile Speedway in the Nascar Dodge Weekly Racing Series. Other race tracks included South Boston Speedway and Martinsville Speeway. In 2007 I ran another partial season where I had 4 wins.
